To enter, people are expected to follow @cityofwanneroo on Instagram, post an image taken within the City’s boundaries using the hashtag #discoverwanneroo2017, and add a description or a hashtag saying where the photo was taken.

Judges will assess photographers’ ability to capture the unique characteristics of the area and assess image composition, focus, use of light and creativity.

Prize categories include the mayor’s choice with a $500 prize and $500 for the picture with the most likes, plus adult and youth prizes.

The City plans to use images submitted in its publications and promotions to help promote the area as a tourist destination.
