Vangel Dhimitri talked to media this week about the incident on Paltara Way where he was called to pick up a man and take him to the airport about 2.15am on September 27.
Warwick Detectives said the man was waiting with a suitcase, and while Mr Dhimitri loaded it into the vehicle, he turned off the engine and used a knife to threaten the driver.
The man, who was described as being fair-skinned, about 30 years old, 180cm tall and of medium build, stole cash and ran off towards Stockholm Road.
