Siblings Mark and Moira Laurence are on the road as part of the 2014 Motor Neurone Disease Drive for the MND Association of WA.

The second annual MND Drive set off from Fremantle yesterday headed for Narrogin, Pemberton and Albany.

It will finish in Esperance on Saturday.

Moira was a travel agent for more than three decades before she was diagnosed with the terminal neurological disease five years ago.

‘Last year the MND Association held the drive for the first time ever and we said that this year we’d join them,’ Moira said. ‘So here we are, the two of us.’

Mark said his sister was still active and drove herself to Pilates classes about three times a week and was involved with the association’s support programs.

‘Going from full-time work to basically retirement was not an easy transition,’ Mark said. ‘But like most driven people, Moira found a way to do something constructive,’ he said.

The pair raised funds at Wanneroo Spud Shed and have raised more than $1500.
