The researcher has been investigating children’s digital worlds since 2002, when she won a major grant to study the internet in Australian family life, and been involved in 10 major research projects.
She has led and been involved in research projects in Australia and 33 European countries looking at the opportunities and risks experienced by children as a result of their internet use.
Between 2011-13, the Australian Research Council also supported a teen-focused research project looking at the different roles played by parents and peers in young people’s online lives.
