Eglinton: Stockland’s Amberton estate to host pizza and pint night

Staff WriterWanneroo Times

A ‘PIZZA and pints’ event is planned in a northern suburbs estate this weekend to celebrate its high proportion of British expats.

Developer Stockland will provide free woodfired pizzas, sweet treats and live acoustic music at the April 22 event hosted by Amberton estate’s Sunset Club in Eglinton, with beer, cider, wine and soft drinks for sale.

Retirees Alan and Val Bidwell built their home shortly after emigrating from the UK in October 2016 and wanted to be close to the beach as well as their daughter and grandchildren, who live in Butler.

“We’re so pleased we decided to go with Stockland for our dream three-bedroom retirement home which has a swimming pool and is near the beach,” Mr Bidwell said.

“We think our new house is absolutely brilliant. It’s everything we hoped it would be.

“We have regular community events like outdoor cinema evenings and we’ve met a lot of our neighbours who are mostly British like us.

“We love the good weather and the open spaces where we can take our two golden retrievers, Skye and Harley, for walks.”

Stockland WA general manager Col Dutton said the estate’s strong sense of community and access to amenities made it appealing to buyers.

“We are delighted to see such a diverse range of homebuyers, such as the wonderful British expats, find their dream home here.

“I believe buyers from Perth to England and beyond are attracted by the supportive and inclusive neighbourhood on offer.”

The ‘pizza and pints’ night will run from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday. To attend, RSVP on the events page at www.facebook.com/StocklandAmberton.
