Police said the woman was turning left off Edgewater Drive just before 4pm when a silver Honda sedan collided with her white Ford |Falcon.
Traffic banked up at the freeway entry to Ocean Reef Road as well as on Joondalup Drive, while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
