Joondalup has more than 104,800 eligible voters this year, and voter turnout as of October 16 was an average of 18.9 per cent across all wards.

People have until October 19 at 6pm to lodge their vote.

Ms Miller said the Joondalup election had so far gone without complaint. ‘All candidates have behaved well,’ she said.

On October 22, Joondalup council will meet to swear in newly elected members and elect a deputy mayor and appoint representatives on Tamala Park and Mindarie regional councils, and on the WA Local Government Association’s north metropolitan group.

It will hold another special meeting on November 5 to appoint representatives to council committees and external boards.
