Mark, who was named best Elvis voice at the 2013 and 2014 Viva Surfer’s Paradise Tribute festivals, will also MC the stage entertainment from 9pm to midnight on the Saturday night.
He is a hard-working member of the Woodvale Warriors relay team but it is his wife, Caroline, who is team captain. In fact, it was Caroline who volunteered Mark’s Elvis persona.
‘He doesn’t mind, he’ll do anything to fight cancer,’ she said.
‘We have a great team of young and not so young family and friends who all want to fight it.
‘Taking part in the relay and fundraising for the Cancer Council is something we can all do. We started fundraising on New Year’s Eve, with a family event hosted by Elvis.’
Mark has a bouncy castle business, and is donating two bouncy castles for small children at the relay.
The Joondalup Wanneroo Relay for Life Joondalup Wanneroo is the Cancer Council’s major fundraising event in the northern suburbs, where teams of 10 to 15 members take part in a relay-style walk or run around the track over 24 hours.
However, the organising committee is seeking more teams, volunteers and donations.
