Fearless Youth Magazine to help Perth youth

Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

TWO people from Perth have created a magazine to help young people called Fearless Youth Magazine.

Cliff Smith, of Connolly, and Huntingdale resident Fifi Robinson, who runs Fifi’s Model Academy in Perth, spent the past nine months planning the magazine.

“The magazine is aimed at helping young Australians between the ages of five and 25, promoting all the help organisations as well as pages of fashion using normal-sized models,” Mr Smith said.

“Our magazine is advert-free as we believe adverts in magazines go against what our principles are on empowering young people to be who they are.

“We have spent months photographing people, putting the website and magazine together as well as working with many bloggers and help organisations in promoting the good work they do.”

Those organisations include headspace Joondalup, which provides services for 12 to 25-year-olds.

Mr Smith said the first edition was in an electronic format and they had set up a campaign to raise $3000 to print 2000 copies as well.

“Once we have that organised we plan to launch a series of children’s fashion shows around Perth to promote our venture,” he said.

“The sale of the print magazines will enable us to be self-funded.

“Our long-term goals are to make it a not-for-profit organisation and use the profits to fund many youth-based projects in Perth.”
