Warwick Detectives officer-in- charge Brad Burnett said the 60-year-old driver had picked up the women from the Northshore Tavern about 12.50am on April 21.
She told them the car could not take all five passengers and asked the women to get out. Four of them obliged, but one remained and abused the driver.
Senior Sergeant Burnett said the driver warned the woman she would drive her to the police station, prompting her to step out of the car. The attacker accosted the victim at the taxi, punching her multiple times in the face.
