North Perth Tamil School will host Deepavali at Alexander Heights Community Centre

The Perth North Tamil School will host its annual Deepavali (Festival of Lights) get-together at the Alexander Heights Community Centre on November 15.

More than 80 other community events across WA shared $82,000 in State Government grants for Seniors Week, from November 9 to 16.

This year’s Festival of Lights event, Sangamam ” an evening of inter-generational experience “ will provide an opportunity to bring together seniors, parents and younger generations.

The night will include presentations and cultural performances as well as a community dinner with traditional food from India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Mauritius.

The North Tamil School classes are run by volunteers with support from the Tamil Association of WA on Sundays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
