A FIRE caused $300,000 damage to a Yanchep home over the weekend.

A neighbour reported the fire at a Yanchep Beach Road house about 5.20am on Saturday, April 2.

Yanchep Volunteer Fire and Rescue as well as career firefighters from Butler, Joondalup and Osborne Park attended the fire, getting it under control by 6.09am and extinguished it by 12.08pm.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the cause had not been determined.

Firefighters from Wanneroo’s volunteer bushfire brigades also helped Department of Parks and Wildlife contain a blaze that burnt through about 8ha in the Pinjar Pine Plantation on Sunday afternoon.
