Fire crews attend blazes in Carramar, Merriwa

FIRE crews have been called to a fire in Carramar this morning and attended a house fire in Merriwa last night.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said two crews were on site after receiving a call about a power point on fire under a sink at a Bardeen Pass property about 9am today.

Seven crews attended the house fire in Merriwa last night, which caused $200,000 damage.

The DFES spokeswoman said they received a call about 10.22pm on May 1 that the front bedroom of a Baltimore Parade house was on fire.

“At 10.48pm it was contained,” she said.

“The cause is undetermined – fire investigation officers will be out there today.”
