IT could be a fire sale like no other.
Gregsons Auctioneers is currently taking bids on hundreds of new bridal dresses from as low as $9 and with no reserve.
The clearance auction is from a northern suburbs bridal shop, which suffered smoke damage when its neighbouring café went up in flames in April.
Though there was no damage to the dresses, prospective buyers can expect to need to have the dresses cleaned to remove the smoke smell – a small price for a bride to pay if she can pick up her dream gown valued between $500 and $2000 for next to nothing.
There are two auctions being held with nearly 200 dresses available in a range of styles, colours, conditions and sizes from six to 24.
There is also a range of as flower girl dresses, veils, shoes and accessories.
Though they cannot be tried on or returned, they can be inspected from 9am to 5pm on Friday, July 5 or from 9am to noon on Saturday, July 6.
