Fired up fundraiser

Ms Hinkley will encourage conversation about the disease at her Bring it to the Table event, a ceramics and sauvignon evening at Fired! Ceramic Cafe in Joondalup.

‘My grandmother Elsie Sheehy inspired me to sign up to support this event,’ she said.

‘Marnie (as we called her) suffered with Alzheimer’s for over 20 years and it was truly heartbreaking to watch what she and my family went through.

‘Sadly, I realised we would not be alone and others, too, would experience similar situations.

‘This event is not just about fundraising, but to encourage people to have a conversation about dementia.

‘It will be a nice opportunity to take a moment to converse while relaxing.’

Guests will decorate a mug, side plate or bowl while chatting over a drink, cheese platter and sweet treats.

Bring it to the Table proceeds will go to care and education programs. The highest fundraising host receives a dinner for eight cooked by ambassador and chef Josh Catalano.
