Firefighters attend suspicious bushfire in Pinjar Pine Plantation

FIRE crews and aerial support are attended a suspicious bushfire in the Pinjar Pine Plantation.

The Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions issued advice for people near Wesco and Hopkins roads in the City of Wanneroo on Sunday morning.

It said the fire was reported about 5am on March 4 and had burnt through about 2ha.

There was no immediate danger or threat to lives and homes but authorities advised motorists to avoid the area.

Those driving nearby were told to switch on headlights, watch out for emergency crews and, if necessary, pull over until smoke clears.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
