Wanneroo Central Bush Fire Brigade will fundraise outside a Joondalup hardware store on August 30.

Treasurer Shane Sheely said the brigade wanted to raise funds for its second defibrillator and a training defibrillator.

Mr Sheely said at least 20 volunteers would take turns cooking about 1100 hot dogs and showing people fire fighting equipment.

‘We will have display trucks and at least one light tanker for kids to have their photos taken,’ he said.

‘Without Bunnings doing this kind of barbecue, we wouldn’t be able to buy this kind of equipment.’

Mr Sheely said having the defibrillator in the response fire truck would help ensure both fire fighters and members of the public were safe if they attended a bush fire and someone needed emergency treatment for a heart attack.

The fundraising sausage sizzle will run from 7am to 4pm at the Sundew Rise store on Saturday, August 30.
