Firies’ hot calendar helping PMH burns unit

Bryn Nightingale, who has been based at Belmont Fire Station for the past 10 years, stopped in one Tuesday morning to sign and sell copies of next year’s Perth Firefighters Calendar.

Mr Nightingale said he put his hand up because he liked what the calendar did for the community.

The calendar, which this year will sell for $15, raises money for Princess Margaret Hospital’s (PMH) burns unit.

“My wife is expecting so helping PMH hits home,” he said.

As part of the process, the model firemen were taken on a tour of the PMH burns unit.

“We got to meet some kids from the ward and it really hit home why we do this,” he said. “It’s not often you get to see the other end of a charity and the smiles on the kids’ faces.”
