The four-man team intends to do the Step Up For MS Challenge the hard way ” in full structural firefighting gear ” and will even carry oxygen tanks and wear masks for the 1103-step journey to the top of Perth’s tallest building.

‘With fireys there’s two ways of doing Step Up for MS ” keen or extreme. We chose extreme,’ colleague Bryn Nightingale said of the decision to don breathing apparatus and carry cylinders.

‘Basically we will be wearing exactly what we would wear into a house fire.’
