A PRAYER garden to mark Our Lady of Mercy Primary School’s 40th anniversary was officially opened recently.
Principal Drew Jago said they were delighted with the garden, which was a place to reflect and inspire daily prayer.
“It is a peaceful and restful garden reminding us of the Sisters of Mercy heritage and their commitment and legacy to those in need,” he said.
The prayer garden was blessed by Girrawheen’s Our Lady of Mercy parish priest Albert Saminedi at the opening event, which was attended by students, staff, parents and dignitaries.
Year 6 students David Carlone and Sian Griffiths read the prayer of Catherine McCauley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy who established the school in 1975.
