GBH: three charged

Clarkson Detectives Senior Sergeant Gary Saunders said a group had chosen to seek retribution against another man.

‘On March 15, a female sent him a text message, luring him to a location in Kingsley,’ Sgt Saunders alleged.

‘About 10.45pm, a group drove to that area and waited for the victim to arrive.

‘He was (allegedly) attacked by the group ” he was punched and kicked, knocking him to the ground.’

Sgt Saunders said one person in the group allegedly assaulted the man with a metal pole and another with a hockey stick.

‘They threatened to kill him and left the scene,’ the detective said.

‘As a result of the attack, the victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery for serious facial injuries.’

Sgt Saunders said detectives charged a 19-year-old man from Doubleview with grievous bodily harm, possessing ecstasy with intent to sell or supply, possessing unlicensed ammunition, possessing a prohibited drug, possessing a controlled weapon and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

‘He appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court on March 17, where he was bailed to appear back in Joondalup Magistrates Court on April 2,’ Sgt Saunders said.

Police also charged a 19-year-old female from Madeley with grievous bodily harm, possessing a prohibited drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. The detective said an 18-year-old Madeley man would appear in the same court on March 28 charged with grievous bodily harm, and detectives were still seeking two other people allegedly involved.
