THREE generations of the Wedderburn family, of Woodvale, were proud to join a strong crowd of people observing Remembrance Day at the Joondalup War Memorial last week.
Ruth Wedderburn, who served interstate in the RAAF during WWII along with her husband Fred, was accompanied by daughter Lorrie Mucciarone and granddaughter Lynne Mucciarone.
‘Dad was in maintenance, he was very, very young and in charge of 100 guys,’ Lorrie said.
‘They got the planes in and out, in and out, and helped the Americans.
‘He started up a 24-hour maintenance service within the RAAF ” he got the crews going so it was non-stop; he was only 23.’
