Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group is hosting two escorted convoys that will leave from and return to Hillarys Boat Harbour.
The first will be a day convoy leaving at 8am and returning about 4pm with help from Fremantle Volunteer Sea Rescue Group.
Commander Mark Carruthers said participants would be shown around the island�s bays and how to get in and out of them safely through the channels.
It will include a sausage sizzle lunch and flare demonstration.
The second convoy will leave about 6pm and return about 9pm with a focus on navigational lights and their purpose.
�It will help people to be confident to get back from Rottnest Island in the dark if they ever have to,� Mr Carruthers said.
Minimum vessel size is 5.5m and required safety gear must be on board.
Cost is $60 per boat and there will be no landing fees. To register, go to www.whitfordssearescue.org.au.
