The Marmion Primary School Year 6 pupil is among 56 choristers who leave tomorrow for a performance tour across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle and Sydney.

There will be fundraising concerts at each stop with highlights including performances at the Gold Coast Marathon, Dreamworld, the Big Banana and a finale at Darling Harbour.

‘I haven’t travelled with the choir before, only with my family, so this is really exciting,’ she said.

‘I fit in (with the choir) because I am not the only one who sings whenever they can.

‘It is really fun and I have learnt lots of new songs and met loads of new people.

‘Our teachers are all excellent singers and I love listening to them and learning from them.’

Caitlin (11) joined the girls’ choir 18 months ago and its performance group earlier this year. She sings in her school choir and has a solo in the WA Primary Schools’ Massed Choir Festival in August.

The music devotee hopes to translate her love of performing to a place at John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle.

Girls aged five years and above can join the choir, which trains almost 4000 members nationally. For details, call 1800 338 142.
