A MAN in his 70s has died after his BMW left the road and crashed into a parked car, which careered into the carport of a home in Girrawheen yesterday.

Police said the victim was believed to have suffered a medical emergency, which led to him losing control of the vehicle.

Officers received the report of the crash on Kelly Road about 5.15pm.

A police spokeswoman said the car was believed to have surged across Blackmore Park and Blackmore Avenue before striking a parked car, propelling it into the carport of a home.

An ambulance drove the man under priority conditions to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, but he could not be saved.
