Girrawheen school fun run raises almost $4600

STUDENTS at a Girrawheen primary school have raised thousands of dollars while getting fit.

Our Lady of Mercy Primary School held a School Fun-Run in June, where students collected $4597 in sponsor donations.

Organiser Bethany Griffiths said it was a great day for children and teachers.

“The fun run meant everyone could get out of the classroom and stretch their legs,” she said.

“Parents also enthusiastically supported the initiative as it steered students away from traditional fundraising events that centred around junk food,” she said.
