Girrawheen: youths smash car windows, attack men

A GROUP of youths used star pickets, bricks and rocks to smash the windows of five cars before assaulting three men in Girrawheen overnight.

The youths also smashed the front windows of a home.

A police media spokeswoman said officers were called to a disturbance on Girrawheen Avenue about 1.40am.

“Several people were visiting a home on the street and as one person left he noticed a group of about four to six teenagers on the street, looking in windows of vehicles parked on the street,” she said.

The group became destructive when the victims went to check on their vehicles.

A man aged in his 20s, another aged in his 40s and a third aged in his 60s were taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Their injuries were not believed to be serious.
