LIVE Church in Girrawheen held an induction service for new pastors Phil and Tracey McCourt on Sunday.

Originally from Perth’s southern suburbs, they served as senior pastors in a church in regional Victoria for 15 years and have now returned to Perth.

The service was officiated by Australian Christian Churches WA president Pastor Joel Chelliah, and guests included Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts and her husband Peter.

“It was quite fitting for Pastor Joel to perform the induction as Pastor Phil used to be his leader and this added a nice personal touch to the service,” Live Church administrator Cherie Cathie said.

“Three of the four senior pastors that Pastor Phil has had throughout his life were also in attendance and Pastor Phil honoured them and their wives and the role they have played in his life and ministry.”

Ms Cathie said the couple was looking forward to meeting local residents “to work together to make a difference in the community”.

“They have a real heart to reach out to and impact the people in the local area,” she said.

Live Church holds services every Sunday at 9.30am, youth groups at 6pm on Fridays during school terms and Christian foundations classes on Tuesdays at 6.30pm.
