POLICE are investigating the torching of a crane, which caused explosions in Gnangara this morning.
Officers patrolling the area heard the commotion just after midnight, discovering the heavy machine alight inside a building site at Fellowship Road and Blaze Road.
Fire crews quelled the blaze but not before it caused about $500,000 damage to the crane.
