NO green thumbs are needed to be part of Perth Garden Club.

Member Bev Hill, of Gnangara, said the club had been running for more than 40 years and was for anyone who enjoyed visiting gardens.

“You don’t have to have a good garden,” she said.

It organises monthly tours to a garden, mostly at private homes, to view the grounds and hear from the owner.

“There’s a lot of people out there who have really nice gardens that the general public don’t get to see,” she said.

Carol and Kevin Diss joined 15 years ago and tend to their Mariginiup property nearly every day.

Mrs Diss encouraged others to be part of the club if they enjoyed viewing and talking about gardens, as well as making friends.

“It’s good because you get to talk to other people who have the same interest as you,” she said.

“You also get little tips, everyone knows something you don’t know, things they do or the best way of doing something, and you get ideas for your garden.”

The club is seeking new members, call 0429 114 124.
