The annual songwriting contest celebrates WA talent across all genres of music with school age, indigenous and regional categories.

Sydnee, who is one of five finalists in the school aged 15 to 17 category, found fame after success on TV talent show The X Factor last year.

Competition entries are independently judged by music industry experts, with more than $40,000 in prizes available.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, March 21, 6pm at B-Shed Markets Fremantle.

Sydnee will perform a concert of original songs from her recently released EP at The Wembley Hotel on Friday, March 20. Entry is free and the event starts at 1.30pm.
