Golfers’ charity day a winner

Some 36 members and guests played a nine-hole ambrose in perfect weather after a putting competition open to anyone visiting Wembley Golf Course. Ambrose winners were Cheryl Shaw, Cavell Astruc, Dave Hooper and Carol Smith followed by Mal Pinkersgill, Matt Pinkersgill, Clint Botica and Tom Botica.

During presentations, Josie Rossi received the George Campbell Trophy as winner of the club championship held previously. Runner-up was Hanneke Puik.

After a post-golf lunch, Wheelchairs for Kids workshop manager Brother Olly Pickett spoke about the charity, which makes and distributes wheelchairs to needy children overseas.
