Grab a bargain book to help sick children

The idea started when Jaz’s grandfather told her about all the books he had read but now did not know what to do with.

‘Jaz asked her grandfather if she could have them so that she could hold a second-hand bookstall and raise money for a charity,’ Jaz’s mother Anita said.

She said Jaz needed help with the idea and so asked her school friend Zach.

‘Both children asked their mothers’ book club members for books, and also family and friends,’ Anita said.

She said they had more than 300 books to sell, including ones from Lee Childs, David Baldacci, Patricia Cornwell and Jodi Picoult, as well as children’s books.

The stall will be held from 9am to 11.30am on Sunday, October 20, at 6 Braden Way, Marmion.

Books will range from 50 cents to $5.
