A man has been charged for allegedly making threats with a gun.

Officers initially charged the 28-year-old Embleton resident with armed robbery of the same person, but Warwick Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said further inquiries resulted in another charge last week.

He said it would be alleged the man robbed an acquaintance at a Merriwa property, but later returned on June 21 and threatened him as he held a shotgun to his head.

Sen Sgt Burnett said the man left in a 4WD with another man, whom police are also investigating. He was charged with aggravated armed assault with intent to rob, adding to his initial armed robbery charge.

Sen Sgt Burnett said pressing a gun to someone’s head was considered assault even if no injuries were caused.
