Handmade and heartfelt

Residents can add their messages to the Dedication Wall in the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre, which was created to recognise the sacrifices of local servicemen and women.

"When 26 men from Wanneroo bravely left their families 100 years ago, six would not return and three would later die from their injuries, a very sad loss for a small community of only 300 residents," Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

"Our local families and community hold the Anzac legacy very close to our hearts.

"I encourage residents to take the time to write a heartfelt message or acknowledgment and attach it to the wall of remembrance."

Craft and school groups made the poppies that decorate the wall, which will remain on display until November.
