Empress of the West Bev Fussell, who started WA’s first Red Hatters group, welcomed almost 200 women to the Woodvale Tavern for a ‘dotty for desserts’ party and to reminisce.

Hatters swapped red and purple (over 50s) and pink and lavender (under 50s) outfits to dress ‘dotty’ while the Empress looked suitably royal in a crown.

The retired Red Hat Chorus, which Bev initiated, sang.

Members honoured the Empress for her ‘inspiration, great sense of fun and foresight’ in starting the Dinki Di Divas with a few friends and then the Strawberry Tarts of Wanneroo.
