Active After-School Communities program co-ordinator and coach Nicola Dark was keen to promote sports participation after completing an Australian Sports Commission coach and training program.

‘The after-school program is a great way for the students to take part in a variety of sport- based activities which may be new to them, in a fun, inclusive, games-based environment,’ she said.

‘The students are also taught about the importance of healthy eating.’

There are more than 75 students enrolled in the program from Years 2 to 7.

Next term Nicola will coach athletics twice a week, with ex-Australian national lacrosse player and school parent Dave Jobson coaching one session.
