STAFF and volunteers spent last week planting a variety of vegetables and herbs at a Heathridge community centre.
The Spiers Centre has established a community garden, supported by a $500 grant from Linkwest.
Centre chief executive Helena Jakupovic said the garden would be open to everyone.
“It’s a place to socialise, to become involved in a network, learn new skills or share gardening skills with others who are learning,” she said. “It will provide herbs, fruit and vegetables to those in the community who assist in the garden and/or to those who are in need.”
To help maintain the garden, call the centre on 9401 2699 or visit 2 Albatross Court, Heathridge.
