A HOCKING student will lop her locks off tomorrow to donate to Variety – the Children’s Charity for wigs.

Holly Stewart (7) will have her hair cut off surrounded by classmates at St Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School on November 14.

Her mother Belinda said two years ago, when Holly was five, she found out people could donate hair to make wigs for children who were sick.

“She was keen from then to grow her hair long enough to donate it to someone who needed it more than she did,” she said.

“Holly has a heart of gold and is one of those kids who thinks about everyone else’s needs before her own.

“On the big day when her hair is cut, she will be surrounded by all the fellow students at the school who have all decided to wear PJs to school on the day to raise funds for Variety.”

Holly said she wanted to help someone who had lost their hair because they were sick.

“I hope it will make them feel happy,” she said.

“I feel a little nervous but excited that I can help someone.”
