Hospital’s new man

St John of God Health Care has named Lachlan Henderson as executive director of Perth’s Northern Hospitals last week.

Dr Henderson will be responsible for the day-to-day operational efficiency of St John of God Subiaco Hospital and line accountability for the 367-bed St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals, due to open in late 2015.

St John of God Health Care chief executive Michael Stanford said Dr Henderson’s appointment showed the strength and capability of the existing |St John of God leadership team.

‘Dr Henderson has extensive executive experience in hospital and health care management, including senior leadership roles within St John of God Health Care,’ Dr Stanford said.

‘He has demonstrated outstanding leadership and capability and his appointment from within means he is ready to hit the ground running.’ Dr Henderson holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from UWA, a Master of Health Services Management from Monash University and a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Catholic Culture from ACU.

He has also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Henderson will start in his new role next month.
