Illegal weed flown in

Mark DonaldsonWanneroo Times

Last Wednesday, Wanneroo residents were fascinated to see a police helicopter lowering down an officer to remove cannabis bushes from the edge of the lake about 10.30am.

Local woman Dee Tsalis was one of those intrigued at the weed removal operation.

‘How they (the plants) got there is bewildering; what with the tiger snakes, the reeds and the swampy wet lands,’ she said.

‘Very exciting to watch the police at work, they were there for a few hours circling the lake looking for the plants.’
