Industrial area among funding recipients

The City carried forward a loan of $20,000 from last year’s budget and allocated a new loan of $1 million when the 2013-14 budget was approved in June.

The City also allocated $20,000 and carried forward $3000 for upgrades to the pollution controls for the Industrial Catchment Area’s drainage system.

The Wangara Materials Recovery Facility was allocated more than $1 million for upgrades, with the City listing $190,000 and carrying forward $163,000 and $715,000 from other contributions, of which $335,000 was carried forward.

An amount of $11,000 was listed for upgrades to the weighbridge, $7000 for a renewal program and $32,000 for a CCTV and PA system, of which $21,000 was from other contributions.

Gnangara Road was allocated $100,000 for upgrade designs from Hartman Drive to Mirrabooka Avenue and $80,000 carried forward for designs to realign the road from Wanneroo Road to Hartman Drive.

Ocean Reef Road was allocated $70,000 for verge and median planting from Wanneroo Road to Hartman Drive and $137,500 carried forward to construct a new dual carriageway between Hartman and Alexander drives.

Hartman Drive was also allocated $177,000 ” $32,000 for a path from Hepburn Avenue to Kingsway and $145,000 to modify the roundabout at Motivation Drive. Brady Street and Irwin Road were allocated $19,500 and $15,000 for paths.
