The Sears siblings grew up on a property named Ben Ceres at the former Nine Mile Well in Wanneroo Road near present-day Marangaroo Road.

Marlene Keane was commended for the memoir of stories she wrote about her late mother Hilda Schulze (nee Duffy) and Justin Bianchini for his submission on Wanneroo�s last major sole policeman John Foley.

Mayor Tracey Roberts presented the awards. The judging panel included Philippa Rogers, a team leader of the New Museum Project, WA Museum, and former co-ordinator of Heritage, Museums and Arts at the City of Wanneroo, and Barbara Hellriegel, the team leader of Local History and Reference Services at Joondalup Library.

The works have been included in the City of Wanneroo�s community history collection, in the Wanneroo Regional Museum in Dundebar Road.
