‘Currently the most important challenge facing the City is the unsustainable level of commuting for employment outside of the City, with limited available opportunities to find work close to local residents’ homes,’ Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said.
‘A major aim of Expanding Horizons is to address this issue by increasing local employment opportunities.’
He said the City aimed to establish more than 2000 new businesses and more than 20,000 new local jobs by 2031.
The City is also aiming to increase the number of visitors to Joondalup.
He wants Joondalup to establish itself as the first primary centre within the Perth metropolitan area.
