In June 2010, Mr Parker was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer and told he had six months to two years to live.
He has since staged several choir productions but due to increasingly fragile health, From our Hearts to Yours is set to be his last.
‘His health is a challenge for him now but the choir is giving him energy and joy,’ Mrs Williamson-Habibi said.
‘Greg has lifted us all by sharing (his journey) with us and despite his sickness, Greg’s spirit always remained very buoyant.’
Mrs Williamson-Habibi has been part of the choir ” which Mr Parker established in 1988 ” on and off for 20 years and said she couldn’t miss this unique event.
‘There is a lot of emotion, excitement and anticipation around it,’ she said.
‘I have deep love and respect (for Greg) and this will be an expression of gratitude.’
Mr Parker is also the subject of a 7.30 Report segment which will televised on March 21.
‘We’ve all been a part in this journey of Greg’s ” I’m thrilled for him that his work and life is being acknowledged,’ Mrs Williamson-Habibi said.
‘It’s a mixture of relief and joy and grief when someone filled every day with this beautiful music ” he’s a very inspiring friend and musician.’
