‘Sadly, thousands of WA children are unable to live safely with their families and need secure, stable foster homes,’ she said.
‘There has also been much in the media recently about the acute shortage of foster carers.’
Key Assets is a not-for-profit organisation that provides care for children experiencing serious trauma and abuse issues or those living with disabilities.
The organisation is committed to making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of these children and young people and is seeking foster carers to make this happen.
‘We are looking for people who have a commitment to children and have room in their lives and their homes for a foster child,’ Ms Wilkinson said.
‘Key Assets offers our foster carers a weekly subsidy and plenty of assistance in the form of social worker assistance, up to 21 days respite per year and a 24-hour support line.’
Foster carers can be married, single, living with a partner, in a same-sex relationship, have children or not ” Key Assets needs all different kinds of people because there are all different types of children.
