A MULTIPLE level diorama created by Kingsley students won the schools challenge at this year’s Wanneroo Show.

The challenge’s theme was creatures in the garden and the years 1 and 2 students used Creaney Primary School’s garden as inspiration.

Classes worked on the project for six weeks, learning about different creatures that visit the garden, performing scientific investigations and improving their writing and art skills.

Teacher Sue Stocks said the children were presented with a trophy for winning the challenge, presented by co-ordinator Meg Birch.

“They were very, very excited, they had a big celebration,” she said. “It’s made them more interested in the garden.”

Hocking Primary School came second.
