‘Crafty’ members make teddy bears, baby clothes and blankets for hospitals, rugs for Wheelchairs for Kids and other charities, and bags for orphaned joeys missing their mother’s pouches.

The group also stocks a craft table at the Madeley retirement village’s annual morning tea, has a Christmas sale day and makes rugs for residents in wheelchairs.

‘It keeps us all very busy knitting, crocheting and sewing every Monday and Wednesday afternoon,’ co-ordinator Audrey Wood said.’There is always plenty of chatter.’

Osborne Park Hospital Auxiliary secretary Jill Higgins recently picked up 44 ‘delightful’ handmade teddies for children having operations.
