Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

MICHELLE Stampalia has volunteered at Burbridge School for 30 years, starting when she was 21.

She originally attended Burbridge School in 1981 as a student in her last year of school then came back to work at Burbridge School, as a volunteer when she was 21 years old.

She has volunteered there ever since, working every Tuesday and Thursday during term time and has rarely missed a day.

The school held a special assembly and morning tea to mark the milestone today, and principal Catherine Kapiteyn thanked Ms Stampalia for her contribution to the school community.

“We feel privileged to have Michelle donate her time, energy and cheerful persona to Burbridge School,” she said.

Ms Stampalia takes on all the washing for the school and helps teach some senior students the skills to carry out those tasks.

Always smiling and making time to talk to everyone, she has helped with programs in the classroom and in school library sometimes as well.
