Koondoola man (45) to face Joondalup Magistrates Court after police pursuit

Staff WriterWanneroo Times

A KOONDOOLA man (45) is due in court next week following a police pursuit through Girrawheen and Koondoola over the weekend.

Police allege the man evaded police in a pursuit after he was seen driving a Nissan Skyline with false plates south along Hainsworth Avenue about 12.15am on December 1.

A WA Police spokeswoman said officers saw the vehicle driving at excessive speed, and attempted to stop the car before it accelerated away.

She said it continued to travel onto Montrose Avenue and Koondoola Avenue, crossing onto the incorrect side of the road several times.

At a roundabout on Hollingsworth Avenue, the driver lost control hitting a kerb and causing damage to the vehicle.

He continued driving until the car was unable to travel further, after which police arrested him.

The man is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on December 10 charged with reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, failing to stop, and false plates.
